Seven dead in fatal Three-Vehicle crash along Lagos-Ibadan Expressway

A tragic accident involving three vehicles claimed the lives of seven people in the early hours of Saturday along the Lagos-Ibadan expressway, near the NIPCO filling station.
Mrs. Florence Okpe, spokesperson for the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Ogun State, confirmed that the crash occurred around 7:00 a.m. and involved a Mack truck with plate number SEY 363 YY, a tanker marked T2900LA, and a commercial bus bearing LSD 180 YA.
Out of the 15 persons involved, 13 men and two women, seven were confirmed dead, while four others sustained injuries.
Okpe explained that the accident was caused by the Mack truck driver, who was speeding and eventually lost control, resulting in the fatal collision.
She added that the injured were rushed to Divine Touch Hospital and Glory Center Hospital in Ibafo, while the bodies of the deceased were deposited at the Idera morgue in Sagamu.
The FRSC Sector Commander, Mr. Akinwumi Fasakin, extended heartfelt condolences to the families of those who lost their lives.
He also urged families whose loved ones traveled on that route and are yet to be reached to visit the FRSC office in Ibafo for further assistance.
