“Upon arrival at Chibi, the troops made contact with the bandits, who began to flee on sighting the advancing forces,” the statement read.”

“In the encounter that followed, three bandits were neutralized and several makeshift camps were destroyed.”

During the sweep, the army recovered two motorcycles, an AK-47 magazine, and 13 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition from the bandits’ hideouts. Captain Oni further noted that the troops carried out a detailed combing of the Dutsen Zaki and Achalle axis, where over 70 criminal camps had already been dismantled in recent operations.

“No human activity was observed, indicating the effectiveness and continued impact of earlier missions,” he added.

The Commander of 6 Brigade, Brigadier General Kingsley Uwa, applauded the soldiers for their bravery and success, assuring residents of Taraba State that military efforts would continue until all criminal elements are flushed out of the region.
