NDA to conduct Live Fire Training for Cadets in Kaduna, warn residents

The Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) has announced plans to carry out a live fire training known as the Elementary Application of Fire Exercise for cadets of the 75 Regular Course.
The exercise is scheduled to take place from April 10 to April 12, 2025.
This was made known in a statement released on Tuesday in Kaduna by the Academy’s Public Relations Officer, Major Mohammed Maidawa.
He said, “NDA is pleased to announce the conduct of an Elementary Application of Fire Exercise for the cadets of the 75 Regular Course. The training will take place at the NDA Open Range in Afaka, Kaduna State.”
According to Maidawa, the purpose of the exercise is to give the cadets real-life experience in handling firearms, which will help improve their tactical knowledge and shooting abilities.
He assured that the NDA is committed to maintaining public safety during the training. “We kindly urge members of the community, particularly herders and farmers in surrounding areas, to avoid trespassing into the range area throughout the duration of the exercise,” he said.
He further explained that strict safety rules would be enforced, and no unauthorized individuals would be allowed within the training zone.
Maidawa appealed to media houses and community leaders to help share the information widely, ensuring that everyone is aware of the training and the necessary safety measures. “We appreciate the understanding and cooperation of the surrounding communities as we conduct this essential training activity,” he added.
