Alleged Match-Fixing: NPFL summons Lobi Stars Official

The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) has summoned the media officer of Lobi Stars, Emmanuel Ujah, following serious allegations of match-fixing involving players of the Makurdi-based club.
Ujah allegedly accused some of the club’s players of engaging in betting activities related to league matches. His claims were reportedly made in both written form and through an audio recording.
In response, the NPFL convened a disciplinary panel today, where Ujah is expected to present further clarification and any supporting evidence related to his allegations.
Davidson Owumi, Chief Operating Officer of the NPFL, stated that Ujah’s actions violated the League’s Code of Conduct for Officials, stressing that such statements damage the integrity of the League and its regulatory structure.
He added that the remarks were harmful to the reputation of the League and its stakeholders, highlighting the need for strict adherence to professionalism within Nigerian football.
