Ikenna Mutuanya emerges as New ICA President in Abuja

The Igbo Community Assembly (ICA), the umbrella body for the Igbo people residing in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, has elected new executives to steer the affairs of the association for the next three years.
In a transparent and peaceful election, Ikenna Mutuanya was elected as the new President-General of the ICA, while Charles Uzodinma emerged as Vice President.
Anthony Ibe was chosen as the General Secretary, with Chinedu Okoli serving as Assistant Secretary.
Timothy Maduabuchukwu was elected as Treasurer, and Elom Dominic Sunday as Financial Secretary.
Other elected officers include Ugochukwu Ogbonna as Publicity Secretary, Chijioke Nwaeze as Chief Marshal, Rose Jerry Rob and Friday Aja as Welfare Officers 1 and 2 respectively, and Chidi Obidike as Provost.
Also selected as Ex-officio members were Tobias Ogunoba, S. Emeka, Chief Onokwuru, Iyom Kate, and Wilfred Ukpo.
Shortly after the inauguration of the new executives, the Eze Igbo I of Abuja, His Royal Highness Eze Ibe Nwosu, addressed the leaders, urging them to serve as worthy ambassadors of the Igbo people and to uphold the rich traditions and culture of the Igbo nation.
The traditional ruler also called on the new team to promote peaceful coexistence between the Igbos and other ethnic groups in the FCT, particularly the host communities. He emphasized that the purpose of the ICA is to foster unity, peace, development, and progress among Igbos in Abuja.
Eze Nwosu charged the new executives to avoid internal conflicts and work as a united front, adding that the survival and strength of the association now rest on their shoulders.
He further advised them to embrace transparency, integrity, and dedication in their service.
Meanwhile, the Returning Officer, Barr. Okechukwu Nzeukwu, described the election as peaceful and free of rancour, commending participants for their orderly conduct throughout the process.
